On the first Saturday of every month, Abuja, Nigeria's capital, comes alive to the sights and sounds of eager vendors exhibiting goods and services of all sorts, while colourfully dressed visitors shop the various stands to the blaring of the DJ's music. It is Designers Marketplace, fondly referred to as DMP in most social circles.
It's a new month and that means another Designers Marketplace sale exhibition to look forward to, with unique buys and several discounts!
DMP has been bringing together the best of food, fashion and shopping in Abuja since May 2011 and has fast become a favourite social event for the young & fashionable, while managing to stay family friendly - everyone comes to shop and stays to play!
The next DMP sale exhibition is this Saturday, 3rd March at the lovely and leafy City Park (which has off road parking!).
With over 50 vendors participating, there will be a great selection of high street and designer clothing, accessories, footwear, household items, childrens clothes and toys etc. Vendors this month include Fati Maida, Hand Made Jewellery Services, Seams, Heart of Africa, Touch of Michelles, Lihwan, Alfa Showers, Purple Lace, Make Believe, Joint Cross, Flips, Sarah Mayen Designs, Jewelry House, Bambino and more.
There is also wide a selection of cakes, cocktails, hot food, smoothies and lots more by the food vendors which include Eetsumore Abuja, Strawberries and Cream, Les Hors D'oeuvres Manifique, Tuv Events, iBlend Services, Essences, Faeis Pastries and Panaderia (the cinnamon roll specialists), to name a few.
Great style is certainly appreciated and celebrated. At each event a "Look of the Month" is selected and wins N10,000 worth of Designers Marketplace Gift Vouchers to spend at any event or in any participating vendor store.
